Title says it. Post what you think your best shot in 2013 was. Just one and keep to the PAD posting criteria. Maybe talk about it some if you would like.

Well after a lackluster year of shooting and not having time to take pictures. This is probably the one I would consider my best. We had been at Rocky Mountain National Park for a good portion of the day and not seen much. We go to leave (I am driving) and we come across a decent heard of elk, then down the road a heard of mountain goats and lastly this guy running down the side of the road. I stop the car and grab my camera, 300 F4 with no stabilization except the door frame and snap 4-5 pictures. This was the last one in the series.

I just love the amount of detail I was able to get in this HDR image....specially the reflection from the piano.

That is too hard honestly - did too much basic work this year. A recent favorite and how I spend my year end was a great catch though. 15 evenings and this was the only night that made any visual drama. Don't see skies like this in Nebraska! Then again I still have 3,000 photos to go through from my vacation. ;)

Tough to pick the best shot. I could easily pick the best shot of each type (landscape, portrait, wildlife), but the best of all of them? Not sure I can. I'll say this is one of the best.

Another HDR picture, which is exactly what I spent a lot of 2013 getting a hang of. Got my D800 and haven't looked back...

Not tooting my own horn, but I'm pretty satisfied photographically speaking in terms of 2013. :D

I got to do a lot of it and I was happy about that.

I like this photo quite a bit-

My best photo, that is hard to say. This one stands out, taken in January. The good news we are going back there next Saturday to see more Bald Eagles and they are suppose to release several this year. Hopefully, I can get another head shot.

    @ChasCS

Probably best not to post other's pictures without permission (it's actually against forum rules).

But to answer your question, the lucky photographer is Edwin Kats.

@ChasCS: Totally agree with Abe on this. Thus, i have removed your post.

Should you wish to share a photo of other photographers, it is best to provide a link that directs us to it vs. posting the image without the photographs consent.

I am in conversation with Edwin as we enjoy this thread.
Thanks for the info on this strict rule.
As I said it was not mine.

Ah, that's why I requested if anyone knew him.

Well, now I do too. ;-)

    Onward and upward,

By the way, I should have done the Google photography search myself. Whoops. Lazy fingers.

Thanks @Ade appreciate your helpful nature.

@Jshickele yes, wasn't it. Check his brilliant website, for so many more...
    Or here http://www.natures-images.co.uk

@Golf007sd, thanks for keeping house so well. That's very neat, of you all.

Pic in question, can be seen at his New Pictures or Birds albums.
It was one, of the bird drinking, while grasping a blade of grass in each foot.

This photo pretty much sums it up for me,

I like it best, because I worked so hard for it. It took me several days to get it. First trying to find a pattern on the behavior of the bird, best times, favorite branches he would sit on. Then placing my camouflaged hideout as close as possible to where I believed is the best place.
Then patience and a lot of missed shots.

I shot very little this last year due to severe family problems. I did manage to get off a few times to old haunts and got this one that means a lot to me. Her parents are special friends and this shot made them smile.

Ha. First not a girl and all I remember is Kenny. That was the second time I photographed him. Hope I can find the original. It has the top of a pine tree in the lower left corner.

I like this topic, so I join with my - Winter in Holland -

Adjust it a little bit in Lightroom and Color Efex, so it looks more like a painting, but you can see it is a photo. Reminds me of a picture my parents had on the wall, ok 60 tears ago.

I have a shortlist but this was about the most satisfying...was on a rooftop garden and this butterfly flew past and rested on a nearby plant. Not prepared, only having my 24-120 f/4 lens and the butterfly constantly moving once I tried to get close before flying off....I was quite please to get this shot!
