What lenses would you like to see updated by Nikon?

Many of us pick certain lenses for various reasons. I would love to see "G" series, Nano Coated, Silent Wave Motor versions of the following lenses that I would love to add to my current lenses, but I don't have faith in Nikon to either update or bring back any of them any time soon.

● Fisheye-Nikkor 6mm f/2.8s
● Nikon 58mm f/1.2 Noct-NIKKOR
● Nikon AF DC-NIKKOR 135mm f/2D
● Zoom-Nikkor 1200-1700mm f/5.6-8P IF-ED
||COOLPIX 5000|●|D70|●|D700|●|D810|●|AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED|●|AF Nikkor 20mm f/2.8D|●|AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D|●|AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G|●|AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D|●|AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED|●|AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G IF-ED (Silver)|●|AF-S Teleconverter TC-20E III|●|PB-6 Bellows|●|EL-NIKKOR 50mm f/2.8||

    ● Nikon 58mm f/1.2 Noct-NIKKOR
An AF version is not possible, for F1.2 lenses, with the F mount. Something to do with space issues and the mirror.
If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.

    ● Nikon AF DC-NIKKOR 135mm f/2D
    Count me in here.

    D7100, D60, 35mm f/1.8 DX, 50mm f/1.4, 18-105mm DX, 18-55mm VR II, Sony RX-100 ii

    Re: Updating of Nikkor lenses....

    ● Fisheye-Nikkor 6mm f/2.8s..... I have such nice results from my modified 10.5mm f/2.8.....maybe new coatings, the "F" added

    ● Nikon 58mm f/1.2 Noct-NIKKOR....gosh with the Sigma, I cannot see a need for this one, but...

    ● Nikon AF DC-NIKKOR 135mm f/2D.....Now, this could be done with VR and fluorite coatings, making a lens which rivals the Zeiss Apo Sonnar T* 2/135, and I would jump on this.

    ● Zoom-Nikkor 1200-1700mm f/5.6-8P IF-ED......plus two Sherpas to carry it.... :-*

I put the Nikon 58mm f/1.2 Noct-NIKKOR on my list because it had special coatings for night time/astro photography. I haven't seen a lens with coatings for night time/astro photography since then.

I guess the next question for a lens like that is, I am going to assume that Nikon will never change their mount and make it larger? It will be a painful change since good glass is so expensive, but at some point it needs to happen.

Yes an updated 135 DC would be nice. And that 6mm f/2.8s... :-)

Errr, not quite. There are a few exotic lenses that will interfere with the mirror (6mm fisheye), but it has nothing to do with being f/1.2. There are two reasons nikon hasn't made an AF-S 1.2 lens. The most scientific is that due to the lack of offset micro-lenses on the sensor the extreme angle that the light falls from a 1.2 causes significant vignetting. (The coolpix A being the notable exception)
    image
The other being that the PDAF tolerances on a DSLR will not give enough accuracy for good hit rates at the shallow DoF that 1.2 has.
Clearance-wise there is no issue with the F mount.

I would like to see the "400 fluorite treatment" on the 200 f/2.

Perhaps VR on the 14-24 and 24-70 might just help in certain circumstances

I think your list sums it up.... Id also like to see the 8mm f/2.8 repackaged and sold and Im still waiting for my 10mm aspherical fx they patented (Ive given up on the 28-200mm f/2.8). An update to the 45mm pancake would be nice too. They have done a really good job cleaning up their current lens lineup.

I just figured out how to edit, normally the edit option is at the bottom of the post, I have never seen them above the post before.

I'd like to see the Nikkor 70-180mm Macro be updated. It's useful to be able to zoom in and out on fast moving bugs.

I'd also like to see the 200mm Micro be updated. Not because I want one, because I just want to see how expensive it might be. :D

Oh my, what a mistake. Yea I figured you know I meant a 24-70mm F2.8.
Can you image how big a 24-700mm lens would be and the weight. Would have to hire a full time helper to drag the lens around. That sounds like a tripod lens and it would cost more than my 2nd car.

probably just 1 sherpa I am sure the will have PF in it. the original is 16 kg and 888 mm. the new version could be half that given the new design capabilities and PF.

I would not want to spend all that money on a zoom. Two or three prime superteles on D810s would have better IQ, be lighter and cheaper, and could probably be carried by one sherpa.

I am waiting for the 200mm f/2 upgraded with the fluorite elements and fluorine coating. Hopefully this year?
    Occasionally a decent image ...
