distortion control firmware for D90

My firmware version for my D90 indicates:
A 1.00
B 1.01
L 1.009 which nikon shows was issued on 2013/07/16
Nikon USA doesn't show a distortion control update (I think it was upgraded last Aug)
however Nikon EU does
It offers me (which I downloaded):
Product Name Distortion control data
Version 2.005
File Name S-DCDATA-002005WF-ALLIN-32BIT_.exe

Before i install in the camera, has anyone in the States upgraded their firmware with this: L 2.005? 2014/08/26

just want to be sure i don't run into trouble as this was not referenced from the Nikon USA support page I think there was a link to Nikon EU

I would not install firmware in a US nikon that was not sourced from Nikon US. There may be differences in the code and prior firmware or even hardware that will be catastrophic (bricking the device).

You can do distortion control in Capture NX-D or Photoshop.

Distortion control data can be used to correct barrel and pincushion distortion during shooting and editing. The data can be loaded into cameras that support distortion control.
