SB 700 flash head loose?

Hi everyone,

I just bought an SB 700 and found out that the flash head's angle can be adjusted simply by pushing it and without pushing the button on both sides first. Now is this a normal thing or the flash head of my SB 700 is defective? I am still under warranty and am planning to send it back for a replacement if this is a defective one. Any ideas and help will greatly be appreciated.

Not normal. The head should not rotate without pushing the button.

Edit: Are you talking about up and down or side to side moment?

Thanks, Im referring to the up and down movt. Like from 90 degrees to 45 degrees you can easily push it downwards and upwards...

Yeah, it shouldn't move either way without pushing the button, I was just curious.

ok thanks. I definitely will send it back. Do you own other flashes aside from SB700? Like SB 910, 900 or 600 maybe? Should I just exchange it for another SB700 or another flash unit?

I have an SB-800 and SB-700. My SB-700 does not have that issue, just exchange it for another unit.
