Good question... If the the 17-55mm is as good as the 17-35mm that would be one. The 10.5mm definitely can resolve at 24mpx Dx. Any D7100 users to show us the bacon here?

Agree that most of the fast DX lenses are more than capable. My 17-55mm F/2.8 does a great job with 24mpx.

My Nikon AF-S 105-450mm f/4.5-5.6 VR DX lens resolves as well as its FX equivalent (70-300mm) :-)

When did so many become so brainwashed to believe that good DX glass (yes, there are good DX lenses) on a good DX body can't compete with FX? Huh? When?
    Nikon D7100; AF-S DX 35mm f1.8; AF-S DX Macro 40mm f2.8; AF-S DX 18-200mm VRII; SB-700 Speed Light and a bunch of other not very noteworthy stuff......

While I am picky and as a result can notice certain things about DX lenses that are flaws, although the glass itself is very good. Most people are more than happy with the images that come out of the 18-55mm. My question is how does it perform on a D7100 as that is the most optimal camera to test it on. Does it resolve good? Is the falloff worse? I don't know having never owned one but having tried one there was a noticeable difference in performance form my 28-70mm (the few I've used may have been duds but then again they all performed the same) My 10.5mm on the other hand even was tack sharp on a D800 wide open which screams quality lens to me...

The last camera I tried with the 18-55mm VR on was a D3100 (14MP), and even that didn't seem to challenge it too much. I suspect it would be "ok' but not great.
If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.
