This is definitely something I'd enjoy doing. Yeah, time lapse I mean, not going up in a basket, hanging beneath a balloon...

What a lovely scene with all those colourful balloons rising.

A few years ago I took a balloon ride and the basket was big enough for 8 people but we only had 5 in the basket. Got some great pictures but that landing was rough and trying to hold on to the rope and a swinging D300 was tough as it tried to collide with the ground. We almost went over.

Normally the landings are better but the wind had picked up so much he could not keep the basket completely upright. I had a lady on my back and them just before coming to a stop he was able to get it turned up right. We dragged along the ground at a 45 degree angle for about 10 ft. That initial impact hurt even with bend knees to absorb the landing. Very peaceful and smooth.

Now with all that said, you really should take a ride so you can check it off your "bucket list".

Watching them balloons sail over head, at home, always makes me feel light headed and happy.
It's like all's well, and they are here to prove it.

I do have a minor fear of great heights. I can hardly climb to the top of a tall ladder.
But it does look like fun, and then the rough ride of landing.
That really sounds like a thrill, especially while holding on to my prized D800 camera...

It "ain't" in my bucket list, nor is sky diving, exiting out of a perfectly good plane. Smile
My friend asked, would you like to pack your own chute? No, heck no!! I'm not that crazy , yet?
I will look into local balloon rides, just out of curiosity.

What is impressive about the final result is the amount of preparation involved in doing a production of this magnitude. I am guessing a half dozen cameras and photographers/assistants were required.

My recent ballon festival was a complete bust (No pun intended). I drove an hour and then the ceiling closed in and the launch was canceled for the morning. WInd conditions are a factor as well.

So, what a super result for a very difficult production.

Well I am pleased you enjoy it this much. I'll try to share other awesome content where I find it...

I thought it good if I could share something that is much closer to my heart. That would be flying our RC Helicopters.
I have an Align TRex 700E DFC HV, so it's rather large, and extremely dangerous...

    RCHA 2013 Event Video

The event video for this years RCHA Flyin and World Record attempt featuring well known factory pilots Matt Botos and Nick Maxwell as well as Simone Zunterer and Timo Wendtland. Over this weekend we also obtained two Guinness World Records for the most amount of airborne RC helicopters, upright and inverted.
For more information on this event please visit the website below:

It's always good to see Timo and "Max", I hope others can learn to enjoy this, as much as we RC Pilots do.
