Iceland is quite close to me (Norway), and I surely would want to travel there (almost made it last year) but I really would love to visit India instead :-)

Yeah, the Aurora Borealis is pretty spectacular... We are blessed to be this far North, and get to enjoy the free light show quite often, especially at this time of the year.
Glad it was so vivid for you to witness first hand.
Enjoy your awesome trip, & thanks for all the wondrous pics and explanations of your excitement.

Amazing shots! .. you have great sense of composition.. not even following rules just a natural talent! Really enjoyed going through the blog.
hope I don't offend but you seem to have blown out the colours a bit in some photos by over saturation..

I see weather like this all the time in Iowa. Not fun to be out in, I can tell you that. Ice can hurt at high wind speeds and there's nothing to block the wind here...
A video to show the condition in which Adhinav Sah is shooting at. Only once in my life did I personally witness the wrath of mother nature in this fashion. The flying snow that was hitting my face felt like small rocks and it was not at all pleasing. I knew where I was going thank God, but I can easily understand how many lose their sense of direction and fall pray to the conditions.

I've been meaning to comment on this thread. Thank you so much for going into so much detail and posting so many amazing images. Iceland has always been on my shortlist and this only reinforces that.

I just discovered this thread so I haven't had time to go over all your photos.
But so far I've been enjoying them!
Also it seems like you've had a blast!
The amount of amazing photos you took is outstanding... I wish i can go to the same place so i can put my Nikon D800E into a real test...
Wish you all the best....
