Well, very nice shots. i have chosen this one--not the most viewed image on my flickr--because it was taken at one of my favorite places and in winter. There is a certain beauty to winter, and this image reflects it for me. I go cross country skiing frequently here, and now more to practice my photography than as an activity for itself For PAREaltor, used a D800 with a 20mm f2.8 lens:
@GOlf7sd thanks for pulling the info. I really didn't think about putting camera, etc with this one. I'll have to go back to the original images, but if I remember correctly, this on was a 9 shot blend/HDR. With the sun just above the horizon, it was difficult to get the exposure right, so I took a number of images manually changing the f-stop and/or shutter.
@Costalconn, Kris - very nice shot of the snowy, I spent a lot of time looking for them this year before literally lucking into one about 30 minutes from home.
Everyone, great shots this past year. I have yet to get anything up this month thanks to moving and downsizing our house since I retired earlier last year.
@Mike...it is interesting to see what people pick for theirs. For me I only try to post my better photos on Flickr so when I go to pick a best it becomes a bit harder.
Great shots everyone. I like the variety that everyone picked so far.
"Best" is and always will be a real struggle for me to define. Instead I selected one of those images I considered "special" during the year. This image represents my first effort at capturing the Milky Way (at least the most prevalent arm visible). It was taken at the Johnston Ridge Observatory overlooking Mt. St. Helens while I was freezing cold and being eaten alive by mosquitos. I have since begun to travel a bit more prepared in terms of bugs and clothing.
Camera Nikon D300s with lens Sigma 500mm F4.5 EX DG APO HSM. Aperture value F5.6, ISO-400 and shutter speed 1/320 sec. Hornøya, Vardø, Varanger, Norway, 2013-06-14 09:54.

Great photos!
Everyone has their own idea of their best shot. This is mine from last year with two of my grandchildren.
My best,
