Future Tech, 2014 CES

I thought it would be nice to have a CES thread, if for nothing more than a place to discuss present day and future technologies.

Something I found extremely worthy of discussion to us with photography minded thinking.

How about Bionic eyewear, including a high tech compact lenses that connect through your eyeglasses to a computer or other electronic device?
The brilliant minds over at http://innovega-inc.com have already invented and built the first unique eyewear.

Imagine what the future holds for the fortunate wearer. One can only envision, with this first large step forward.

So far, the Audi with lasers for headlights is probably the coolest CES tech I've read about.

Who wouldn't want a car with frickken' lasers?!

Yes, that is pretty awesome indeed. Pity the oncoming traffic, if you thought high beams on the highway were bright.

Check the videos on youtube. Strong enough to pop balloons.
Definitely not toys though neither are the much weaker red pointer lasers we all have on a keychain or pen.

I quite like this digitally locking dead bolt, with built in Bluetooth.

It's interesting that you can email someone a key, and disable it and or resend its code to someone else later if desired.
Up to 5ive keys, you can't get locked out. There also, is a key fob included.

WiFi and Bluetooth has enabled us being blessed to using some very keen inventions in the electronic market place already.
This lock is available at quite a few established online retail locations, making it a potential big hit.

I like lasers except when they mess up your sensor.

Sharks can smell/taste blood in the water from several miles away, seemingly already with laser honed senses.

Try and imagine riding comfortably in a vacuum tube transporter, speeding along, from New York to Hong Kong in under two hours...
These tubes could be set up between major cities and become a welcome to business and holiday travelers alike.
