Photography assignment ideas

I have a photography assignment for my photography class in school with the theme "Layers" literally anything that could represent layers, I've had several ideas but can you guys share any ideas and photos you have that comply with that theme to use for my research if you wish. Thank you!

There seems to be a flickr group for anything and everything.
