    Thanks! How bout a diesel? This was also a fan favorite on the photo excursion because it and it's partner locomotive were actual original Western Maryland engines. (The steam locomotive was a Chesapeake and Ohio, not coincidently my favorite fallen flag railroad). Anyway the diesels had been in the hands of several owners after WM folded/was bought out and fairly recently found their way back "home". I don't think the WMSR actually owns them yet but it sounded like some kind of a deal is in the works. AFAIK this was the first time they were actually in use on trains - they had been in storage in the yard.

    OK here we go. There was a big field with lots of tiny purple flowers on it across the street from one of my daughter's soccer games the other week and I snuck over and took some pics.

    We would have been all set for a while if I brought my camera to her latest game - the opposing team was in dark purple gear. Unfortunately, I left it at home because we had plans after and I didn't want to leave it in the car.
