Yes, I know what you are thinking, I know that the camera was stripped when it fell in my bag. I spoke to a specialist at a local camera store and he said that he could put in new screws and realign the camera, but I need to first find this piece. It kinda looks like a big staple and I think they help the camera lens make contact with the body by acting as a conductor and snap in place under the lens mount. There's normally 3, and I think it was vacuumed up or thrown away.

If there's anyone who has any extras from an old camera or could sell me just this one for my D90 I would gladly pay 20 bucks for it.

Thank you!!!!

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to read about your unfortunate mishap with the camera.
I doubt that any one here, is going have that extra little bit of a camera, to sell or give away.
I wish you good luck in hunting it up though.
Some camera shops have old cameras that couldn't be repaired. They go Into a recycle program.

This looks like a repair for a service center. If the fall tore the lens off and damaged the mount, it may need more than a simple screw and clip replaced.

+1 Msmoto. Get a free estimate from Nikon and then you have two choices. Sell it for parts on eBay or have Nikon Service Center fix it. While doing that they will strip it down, clean and adjust exposure meter and AF system. I hope the latter is what you do. Good DSLR.

Thank you all. Chas, I ended up doing what you suggested. The camera takes good pictures now, the only problem is that the 55-200 lens I had on it has a stuck aperture stick that is low so the camera still won't focus with this lens because it is too dark... :(
