I noticed that @Pistnbroke uses1/320 for his flash pictures at weddings. While I was checking all my Menu settings after setting up Auto ISO I saw mine was set at 1/250. What should I be using on a D7100?

I think using 1/320 will reduce max flash power
this may only show up when "filling in" in bright conditions
but with digital "film" is free, so give it a try

1/320 is the max sync for the D7100 seven (don't know if you knew that).

I've tried @PistnBroke's settings (and variations on them) quite a bit recently and didn't find that to be a problem. I have found that even in harsh sun, my SB700's don't run out of power when filling using HSS due to the auto-ISO function he uses. OK, mine aren't 'his' settings, but when the light's a bitch, you have to get creative. The shutter speed really only mainly alters the ambient coming in to the sensor IME.

His ideas work for him, but I have come to think that they lack the control I want. Great how many ways there are to skin a cat tho!
    Always learning.
