Live Music Video

I was recently contacted by a band that wants me to record live video at some of their shows and make it into a music video.

I'll be using the D600 and 24-70 lens and will probably use a monopod. I read some where about how the 24-70 isn't a good lens for video. Does anyone know why that might be?

Does anyone have any tips/tricks for such an activity? The focus during live view is really slow and I don't know how to activate continuous focus so I was thinking of using manual focus

Thanks,
Ben
