Erratic shutter speed reset after every shot in Manual

Had an issue today with D600 manual mode after every shot I had to adjust the shutter speed which changed after each shot from whatever I set to some new random speed. I had to adjust the shutter back to what I wanted every time. Any ideas what might cause this. I turned off took out Battery restarted. Reset all back to factory setting and adjusted. Nothing changed still same problem. Then it stopped and is not functioning properly? I could have switched something but not aware of what? Anyone experience anything like this?

Absent of any camera malfunction, I think that is the most likely reason.

No it wasn't bracketing. After the shutter was released the shutter speed would jump to say 2000th then I would reset to 100 shoot and the shutter would jump to 15 sec ! After every shot an erratic jump with wild fluctuations in speeds.?

You did do the two button reset...right? If that doesn't fix the problem, it's time to send it to Nikon Service.
