Nikon FX 28-200

Is there any hope for a VR version of the Nikon FX 28-200 xxx lens? The G version seems to be an excellent compact travel lens with a good zoom range; the addition of VR would make it ideal for my needs.

Anything wrong with the Nikon 28-300mm VR

Unlikely but who knows.. Nikon has been flooding that range on dx with a handful of 18-XXX VR (105,140,200,300,300) so a new FX 28-200 VR could be possible , especially if its about the same size as the 18-140. Could be cool to also add a 28-400 F3.5-6.3 VR (with 67mm filter) ! :-)

to sevencrossing: 1.76 lb of the 28-300 VR adds to much to the 1.67 lb of my D610; I also have a
70-300 VR that covers the long end very well for my modest needs. The old 28-200 design is optically superior according to some reviewers and also more compact

As best I can tell the 28-200 has not been made since 2005. The 18-200 has VRII.
