When I sell a vehicle, and I've sold 12-15 cars and motorcycles in the last 15 years, we meet at a public place, and then go to their bank issue a check and then to mine to deposit. Even if they have cash, we go to the bank and deposit the cash, and issue a cashiers check if it is their bank (preferable to carry a check than large sums of cash).
