Hi,
I'm using nikon D800 with Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR1. I Noticed that when im shooting horizontal, the top of the picture looks blurry. Like motion blur. I Shot a preson at shutter speed of 1/2500 so it's impossible that he moved his head so fast.
I Did test shots and i saw that when i shoot horizontal the top third of the pictures looks blurry. Not sharp at all. I Tested at all shutter speeds, with and without the VR.
Anyone knows that problem and can help me? Thanks.

@hagay: Do you see the same thing happening when you shot vertical? What happens when you change the focal lengths...hence, 70, 100, 150, 200mm? Do you have any filters on the lens?

Just for argument sake...make sure their is noting on the front element...just as finger prints or other unwanted objects.

I did some test shots. You can see it here:

The focus point wat on the top where it says " Sano Medic"
From picture number 64 to picture 82 i was shot with different shutter speeds. VR was on.
From picture 82 to 87 the same but now VR is off.
Now! Look what happened when i shot vertical the last 3 pictures. In picture number 88 you can see how soft it is. VR was also off.

I cannot see any issues on the images. Show us the one with the head movement and shoot it vertical as the ones I saw are horizontal. Please post one image which shows the issue. Thanks

Tommie: The last four shots in the linked set are vertical and show the problem.

Simple solution? If it's the only lens you have that does this on that body, send the lens to Nikon with a description of the fault and preferably prints of the problem and they'll fix it.
    Always learning.

That's what i'm going to do. I Don't know about other places around the world, but in my place, sending the lens to Nikon meaning to forget about it for a month..
I Tested my d800 with my Nikon 105mm micro and there is no problem with it.
    Thanks for the help.

A month? Wow! a week to ten days here in the UK. They will do a good job though.

I don't see what is being described at all. I do see some camera shake. It doesn't matter how fast the shutter is, it can be caught.

To show the issue you really need to take a picture of a solid flat frame filling object, like wrapping paper or something. With a 3d object DOF starts to creep in as well so it gets really difficult to show it objectively.
