Lens S/N with USXXXXXX in front "pre-fix" of the number

Hi, I've noticed that some of the US purchased Nikon lenses have the "US" letters in front of the lens S/N, and others don't. For example the 28-300G and 105G Macro have the "US" letters in front of the S/N sticker in the back of the lens, and the 50 1.4G and 85 1.8G DO NOT have the US letters in front of the S/N on the back of the lens, do you know why?, all 4 lenses were purchased in the US as US market lenses, thanks

It is weird that the 50 1.4G and the 85 1.8G have S/N 30XXXX and 55XXXX and the S/N Database list the US numbers for both lenses as 60XXXX and 60XXXX, both lenses were purchased in the US at authorized Nikon resellers, thanks

Don't know why but my 85 1.8G has US61XXXX. Did they make them all in the same place. Mine says made in China. :-??

I purchased one 3 years ago and the S/N was 61XXXX, then I sold it, I just purchased a new one this week and it says 55XXXX, weird.

And it was the original and genuine US 1 Year + 4 Year Warranty Card

The "US" means it belongs to us. When are you going to send me our lenses? )
FWIW all of my lenses start with US

All my lens's boxes have the 5 year warranty sticker outside the box and inside is the 1 YR + 5 YR yellow extended warranty sheet with the same S/N printed in the sheet and it is in the Lens and outside the box as well.

Are you sure it is a US warranty? Not nikon International?

Nikon's international warranty is only good for one year.

Yes, it's US warranty. I went to my local photo store and both lenses (85 and 50) were also odd S/N with no US as a prefix of the S/N, I would assume Nikon S/N are unpredictable
