What do want want from an action Camera ?

At the moment I'm not interested in buying an action camera but if I were ever so inclined I might just keep an eye out for reviews of the Samsung NX-1, which will be officially announced next week. Pictures and specs of the camera have been leaked on-line: 28 MP APS-C sensor, 15(!) fps, and super-fast AF according to those rumors.

Yeah I have an eye on that NX-1 .. its got some really nice new tech in those sensors... 1) wider vision ie lenses can have larger aperture and be closer to the sensor. 2) less cross chat and more photons due to the ISOCEL (BSI V2) structure which should result in clearer picture and higher ISO.. other stuff .. quite exciting really.

I guess I wonder about the term "action camera." Is it a camera used to shoot high-speed action (like a D4s)? Or a camera designed for photographers in motion, hiking, climbing, cycling, etc?
