Hi everyone,

I am about to open my own coffee shop and Im looking to down size my bag of gear considerably. If anything you see in my signature interests you please send me a PM and we can discuss pricing details over the phone or by email. Not everything will sell, I do plan on keeping a few primes, but most are available to the first buyers. Lens condition and averaging ebay and craigslist prices will determine the end price, but I will be negotiable.

Thanks,

Mike

Congrats on the new venture. I hope you don't sell everything as I'll miss seeing your work.

His 200 will pay for one or two espresso grinders.

Thanks, proudgeek. WestEndPhoto is right, if one thought that camera gear was expensive it would be unwise to examine high end coffee equipment. :)

I don't plan on selling everything, its more that Im willing to sell most of it. I need a few thousand extra dollars to finish the space off the way I want to, so some gear is going to have to go. I also won't have much time for dedicated photo work, so Ill keep a couple portrait lenses, my Sigma 35mm and I may trade the 14-24mm in for the cheaper but more specialized/comparably limited 20mm f1.8G that was recently released.

Congrats and at least you can take your own product shots of the espresso drinks.

Wishing you all the best @SquamishPhoto. Noticed your photos tapering off on the PAD and I for one would like to say I've always looked forward to seeing them. Coffee is like healthcare and wine, sought after in the best and worst of times. Vip_JZ is right, looking forward to see an occasional product shot on PAD.

I just visited a new coffee shop here in downtown Chicago. They have pour over dark roast coffee and while I had it before from another coffee place this was way better especially the honey or syrup they used for sugar.

I'm going to miss your model shoots unless you take pics of your clients and update us on your venture. The Zeiss 100 and Nikon 200mm f2 pics you take of your models are very pleasing.

Personally, I would deck the wall with all your photo's and place a price tag on them. Moreover, I would inform your customers of you passion for photography and get some jobs from the java sales. As a business owner never stop being an entrepreneur in finding creative way to mix your skills with your occupation. You are entering the hospitality business....the sky is your limit in how much you choose to interact with you clients.

All the best ..So where is the coffee shop going to be ?

In town here in Squamish. I've been working in the coffee industry for nearly 8 years now, so its a good time to move in this direction and allow myself the pleasure of calling the shots. We just got a second craft roaster in town, so Ill be able to provide a multi-roasting scheme with up to 5 different roasters from around BC and Alberta.

It looks like I've been able to sell off the zooms and D7100 and avoid selling off the primes. I will probably still hawk the 14-24mm and the 45mm PC-E in the next few weeks and let myself keep the portrait lenses.

I propose a get-together at Mike's coffee shop. Vancouver is a great place for photography!
