One of the things I try to remember when photographing live objects, people, animals.....VR will not correct subject movement. So, the 135mm f/2 is quite adequate for my needs.....without VR.
I understand and agree but always feel as though if you're ever shooting under 1/500th or so, at least removing one moving variable of the two in any given picture has to help yes? If I'm just a tad shaky and I can rid that element that should help.
VR is good and bad at the same time, since it does cause optical issues. While it can be helpful, I think it should be left out of a high quality portrait prime.
If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.
