Since I haven't seen any comparisons yet except that in the video posted here, guy is talking about how magical his 300 f4 I and that it shoots like an f2.8.
Does anyone have any experience using these two lenses?
Beware the overall score, as transmission is a factor and any fast lens has an advantage. I would focus on sharpness and chromatic aberration. Forget distortion and vignetting, as these are not that important and can be fixed in post. I do it in Lightroom, but frankly, I rarely bother. I usually prefer the moderate vignetting of a lens shot wide open compared to no vignetting.
Also, this is a starting point in an analysis. There are numerous other important factors that are not tested here. However, for these factors, there is no comparison to DXOMark for rigour when doing comparison analysis. Note that these results are not comparable with other types of tests. The only way to know for sure is to slap the lenses on your camera and perform the test yourself.
