CIR POL on 8mm Fisheye

I regularly find myself shooting in bright sunshine, and I often utilise CIR POL filters (I have a 77mm I can fit onto most of my lenses, and I have the FotoDiox solution for my 14-24mm).

On the Sigma 8mm Fisheye there is a front bracket which gives it a regular 72mm filter thread, but I wonder if it worth it? I could also buy a step-up ring, but seem to remember there are some challenges with wide angel lenses and pol filters...

Each part of the sky has a different polarization, so the colour will vary across the sky.

If you have no sky you can use it to take out reflections and get more detail with a wide lens.

You may end up with a circular image, but I do not think one can have much more than maybe 140º with the adapter on for a 77mm filter.

LOL - yes, and I do not mind buying the step-up ring, it is the 3 weeks waiting I mind...

As it turns out, I did a bunch of landscapy pictures today, and was able to keep the sky blue etc.

@Msmoto, you are right, the adapter takes quite a bit of angle of view, and that would only get worse with a 77mm CIR POL.

That ring was the thinnest I could find at 3mm, the B+W is 5mm. Can you tape it on to see?
