How can i set my NikonD7000 (placed on a tripod) to take pictures all night and create a time lapse?

P 155 of your D7000 manual. You may find that battery life will limit this, so an external power supply may be required. A dummy battery pack and 7v power supply, both possibly available from B & H Photo may be necessary.

And of course a power-station close by.

If you shoot a night and noise reduction is on, consider double exposure time +5 seconds at minimum between the shots.

Not sure where the best thread to put this would be, but it's just so lovely. It's by a california police officer who took a couple of months off his job to chase storms and shoot timelapses.
