Anyone here ever apply to be a Nikon Ambassador?

Certainly some big names among the Nikon Ambassadors, but several I have never heard of even within my own specialty. Wondering what is the criteria. Anyone every poked around to see?

    You don't apply for a job like that. You get noticed, then invited.

    So the criteria is do something that gets you noticed.

    Your PR person reaches out to their PR people. There is no formal process, AFAIK.

    Some of the ambassadors are far from leaders in their own genre. I sort of think something else is going on than Nikon beating the bushes for work to feature. It seems that lecturing/workshops is a common component. Kind of make sense because speakers/workshop leaders expose more photographers to product than strictly shooters. Just an observation. Trying not to make it about sour grapes.
