No, the SB-800 is closer in size to the SB-700.
The actual flash heads themselves are difference sizes and shapes though. The SB-700 uses clip on colour filters while the SB-800 uses the older gels as seen in Ironheart's post.

If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.
I suppose the question in my mind is, are you using the gels for a fill flash, or to have an entire scene moved toward the colors at sunset? A lens filter might work best for overall correction, or even setting in camera while balance could achieve the end result desired.
Also, if one wants a lot of gel material, e.g., for large LED sources, a place like this

The SB-700 uses the SJ-4 color correction filters. the SJ-1 and SJ-4 filters don't look similar.
In looking at pictures of the SB-800 it does not seem that the color correction filters on my SB-700 would fit

can provide material. I have used this material to change the color of bright white LED's, into a much more pleasant warmer light.
