Unless you need autofocus, check out the new Samyang 135 f/2 as well. Excellent optically.
Also, if there's any lens you're curious to try out, Nikon or otherwise, check out lensrentals.com. You can rent a large number of lenses and accessories from them for reasonable rates, and will allow you to make buying decision on pretty much any lens you may consider. At the moment they don't have the 135 Samyang (Samyangs are listed under the Rokinon brand at lensrentals), but they do have the 135 f/2D Nikkor AF DC that you can rent at $64 for 4 days, as well as the 105 f/2D AF DC lens at $53 for 4 days.
Agreed, that is one wonderful lense. Mind you i would not spend that money on manual lense. I have small kids who will never stand still for a sec. Its hard getting them in focus as it is never mind manual lense.

I might argue that my 85 has SLIGHTLY better IQ. But this is my favourite portrait lens.
That being said, the Nikon DC-NIKKOR 135mm f/2D and DC-NIKKOR 105mm f/2D ( my alltime favorite portrait lens) Lenses are classics and nearly perfect.
Welcome to Nikonland. Abandon all Hope.

there is also rumour that Sigma is working on both a 85mm f/1.4 lens and a new 135mm prime.
i have their 50mm f1.4 Art and its outstanding so if they are planning 135mm it would be something i would eagerly wait for.
FYI, Sigma usually releases F-mount after the canon mount, so the wait can be interminable, and we haven't had a solid rumor yet...
