D750 USB cable

WTF is Nikon doing? The USB cable for the D750 is a proprietary cable!! Nikon website says D750 uses a UC-E17 USB cable. Can't find one for sale anywhere. Go to Nikon Store website and the only thing they want to sell me is a UC-E6. Does anyone know where to get a cable that actually works with the D750? (I don't want to buy a 15 foot TeatherTalk cable for $37.)

I am confused. I swear I have plugged a USB cable into my D750...but then again perhaps it was the D7100. Now I will check this out tomorrow and get back to you. Really confused...failing memory is more likely. )
