Finally have it narrowed down to 2 cameras only, took me long enough . Buying it tomorrow before my trip the Newfoundland, subjects to be photgraphed are whales; puffins; gannets; storm-petrels; kittiwakes; murres; razorbills; lighthouses; icebergs, and landscapes. Basically just about everything using the Nikkor 80-400 AF VR ED 1:4.5-5.6D. Thanks again for your patience with this and any info.
One bit of advice: Use the camera EXTENSIVELY prior to your trip (and bring the manual with you if packing space allows). I once traveled with someone who bought a camera right before embarking on a trip of a lifetime. On the last day he was trying to figure out why all his shots were blurry.

Until earlier this year I ALWAYS carried the manual in a bag or luggage. Now I have the new Nikon Reader installed on my tablet and Droid phone so I can look up anything I need and not have to carry that thick manual. Highly recommended.

It's been going on for 3 months now. Each time they put out like 250-300 units (1650 cumulative units to date) and are all gone within 24-36 hours. They started with the mark II non-VR 18-55mm ED but now they're throwing in the mark II VR collapsible. It comes down to about $375-400 for the body, if you take into account the current lowest price for both refurbished lenses, it's a really crazy deal. I only wish Nikon would port the D7200's firmware to at least solve the banding issue. If they did I'll jump right back in.
