Hi Everyone,
So I recently bought a Nikon D5500 with a 18-140mm 3.5 kit lense. I am looking at shooting more sunrises and sunsets and potentially even night shots. I have been looking at 35mm prime lenses, specifically Nikon brand. Any recommendations or should I be looking at something else? I am looking at spending $700 or less but could adjust this if need be.
Thanks!

Nikon makes a 24mm 1.8 prime, but it's about $750. On DX, that would come out to be a 35mm field of view.

You could also get the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8, which would cover all the primes from 18-35mm.

A lot of people like that lens, but that's about $800.

It depends on whether or not you want to stay with DX or not.

Or if you want something cheaper, Nikon makes a DX only 35mm 1.8 for about $200.
    Nikon D7000/ Nikon D40/ Nikon FM2/ 18-135 AF-S/ 35mm 1.8 AF-S/ 105mm Macro AF-S/ 50mm 1.2 AI-S

You don't need a lens. You need a tripod.
