[ANN]Pinout: a smart, versatile gadget for your camera

Hi Everyone,

My name is Long LI. I'm the co-founder of Zesty Systems Inc. As a team we launched ZGR/SmartShutter series smartphone-control for camera for amateur-professional photographers.
I am writing today to personally ask you to support our new project named “Pinout” that just launched on Indiegogo. A short url is http://igg.me/at/pinout

Pinout is a Bluetooth-powered remote control for Nikon DSLRs that, when used along with its free dedicated app, can do time or distance lapse, high-dynamic range (HDR) shots, Bulb ramping, Geo tagging/logging, multi-camera control, and much more—wirelessly. And Battery free.

Successful tech product launches require a huge amount of momentum. I'd love to say you were with us at the beginning - will you join?

Any help spreading the word would be AWESOME. We created a special page to make it easy. http://igg.me/at/pinout

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Long LI

Brilliant use of BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). I'm going for the full version. Hope you get there!!
Mods, don't delete this, we need this kind of innovative thinking in the Nikon space. In fact, I'd suggest Peter post this up on the main blog. These guys are legit, they make a wired version for smartphone control as well.

I have a very important question regarding the B-type version.

I see the example where it is mounted on the D3100 and it looks great. However, starting with the D7000 and moving up to the D750, there is a mounting bracket on the side which looks like it would interfere with a solid connection or even prevent it from being installed at all.

With the accessory port, the connector should have a black line. It is my understanding that all models except the D90 has that line towards the FRONT of the camera. The D90 has a reverse connector.

Please advise. I may be interested in supporting this cause, but this is a very important detail to be answered. It would be best if a photo of a D750 (or similar B-type compatible camera) could be shared.

    Thanks.

Does it fit inside of an RRS L bracket? on the D7100? In portrait Pano's the wired release does not clear and it is a pain in the Arse. If it will fit between an L Bracket I am very interested. Thanks for posting. @Ironheart. Thank you for your wisdom as usual.

I think there have space for Pinout on D7100 with RRS L bracket. I have not the L bracket, so the answer is MAYBE.
