Now back from two weeks in Germany, travelling every day...This was from the last day in Münster. I took this shot in a slightly different way. I tried to get the centre of the cupola in the centre of the image initially by placing the camera on the floor with the lens pointing up. Then I laid on my back, increased the ISO to 1600 and placed the camera on my chest, holding it lightly while holding my breath.
Pentax 645Z HD DFA 35 f/3.5 at f/5.6 1/15 ISO 1600
My efforts at the Morton Arboretum Illumination event a couple months back left me somewhat underwhelmed, at least as compared to last year (2014). Disappointing. Had only a handful of OK shots.

Itsnotmeyouknow, great shot, it inspired me to post this one.
I took a tonne of shots of ceilings in Spain in Portugal just by laying the camera on the floor with a lens wide enough to capture what I wanted even if not aimed perfectly. I turned the ISO to 100 with a short timer. A lot of them turned out really well.
With this shot of Il Duomo, I could not get right underneath the dome, so that would not have worked.
Just had to buckle down, open up the lens and shoot the 500 at 1/400th handheld in the rain/sleet/snow for this one.. not much DOF 7dm2, 500 F4 at F4, 1/400th ISO 800
When I first visted Evora in 2001, I didn't bother looking inside this modest looking church, the Cathedral of Evora. Upon my return in 2015, I realize my mistake. The interior of this church is in my opinion, the most beautiful church interior in Europe. More can be learned here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathedral_of_%C3%89vora The Cathedral of Evora is situated in Evora, itself a World Heritage Site and in my view, one of the top three or four destinations in Portugal. It's been a while since I posted but this was done with my "new to me" D800
learning DSLR with D7100 18-105mm and 35mm F/1.8. I also love my little Nikon Coolpix AW100! flickr.com/photos/115637741@N02/ imagesbypam.tumblr.com/ and driveby-shooting.tumblr.com/
