The lead pack in the Moto America Superbike field bending into turn 10 at COTA. The weather was really fickle, with some sun intermixed with a lot of gray/rain. The goal was to catch the lead group domino-ing into the apex.
That corner looks scary as all get out. You climb a hill on the front side of it. You have to commit to the turn well before you can actually see it.
@Capt_Spaulding Nice...and several race courses have the corners one must commit to without being able to see the focal point....which on one of these bikes may be several hundred meters down the road.....
The nice shot above suggests also a "vertical" corner is present where the bike unloads and this is exciting...especially if one wants to remain on the bike.....
Playing with the new lens. D5, Nikon 200mm f/2G. Stuck in a hotel room. This thing is razor sharp but quite heavy. Monopod arrives Friday and will be welcome.
Whenever I travel I try to avoid staying in Hotels as I've stayed in those too often and they're boring, I'd rather have a surprise or two The apartment I stayed in this time was quite awesome, but with the tiniest bathtub I've ever seen... and used.
