Cosmetic Lens repairs at Nikon USA repair facilities?

So all but 1 of my lenses from Nikon are "Black", then I have the silver 70-200 generation 1vr. I am planning on sending in the 70-200 to have the focus re-calibrated and a general re-tuning.

Does Nikon USA fix paint chips on the lenses?

And while we are talking about that, if I send in the rest of my lenses, will they "repaint" them in Nikon Silver if I pay for it?

I doubt it as it isn't most likely part of their daily routine. They are Nikon trained parts swappers so if they can't buy the part they need from Nikon, I doubt they will fit it. Of course if they can buy a new barrel in silver from Nikon, they will fit it.

I'm sure there must be a cottage industry out there that will re-paint if you look hard enough?

I think Nikon will only replace barrel parts, not fix paint.

don't you just love none chip polycarbonate....When I sold my old D7100 the metal was showing through on the bottom corners but a quick flick with a small brush and matt cellulose and you could not tell
