Obviously if you already have a 24mm T/S lens its less ideal than 17mm but personally as someone who doesn't and can at maximum only justify one such lens 19mm is actually very appealing as in-between the two.
It;s interesting that Schneider PC/TC now, only make 28mm F4.5 as their widest PC/TC lens, Schneider arguably the best PC/TC lens made for 35mm FF cameras must consider that this must be the optimum width.and at $6000 it is quite rare, mind you so are the users.
Pretty cool to have a tilt shift that wide and I hope it is as good as the current 24mm, which is pretty spectacular I have heard. Perhaps Schneider makes their current 28mm because of the 30mm, 38 and 40mm lenses they have been making for Hasselblads. Maybe they considered 28mm to be wide enough. Cost must be a factor as well obviously too...
It could well be that Schneider are carrying across larger format designs or perhaps that simply lack the experience of making the incredibly wide designs that 35mm SLR manufacturers do?
Schneider made a Schneider Wide Angle 28mm f/2.8 PC Super-Angulon Manual years ago not like the current models plus they make PC Lenses for medium format I tried the Nikon versions of PC lenses but just found the new Schneider PC lenses easier to work with. But thats just me, others may prefer the Nikon Versions.
Anyone want to take the over/under on price? I'm sticking to my original estimate of $2499.95 USD. If I were doing pro landscape photography I would be on the waiting list.

So much for your crystal ball Ironheart. You were under by $900.

Yeah, my crystal ball didn't see the elimination of the tilt/shift dependency, and really being able to go anywhere between parallel and perpendicular rather than one or the other is a game changer for Nikon. That, along with the three ED elements has me drooling...
Look at this beautiful MTF, clearly this is designed for high-megapixel sensors:

Q: Does this mean that the other three existing Nikkor tilt/shift lenses are now outdated? Should they be replaced?
@beso where did you see images? product images or sample images?
I have never looked into these specialty lens. However, I know for the most part optics trump software, so I'm assuming this is the best solution over fixing in LR. I straightened an image the other day of a building that was a bit distorted but I'm not much into architecture anymore and I'm just curious. I do like doing awkward angles to the architecture vs taking a photo for a correct look.
