Nikon rebates

Hi All,
I have been waiting, hoping that the 200-500 might have a rebate, but it's not included in the current ones that started today. If anyone could offer info / experience on the rebates, how often they happen, and if you think it's likely the 200-500 might included in a future rebate, any info is greatly appreciated.

New and popular items rarely go on rebate. It will be at least one year from release before we might see this lens on a rebate list. If you want a deal, look for a refurb. Right now on the Nikon store for $1,250:

This is a promo, not a rebate - but I have to say it. The angst is killing me.

The D810 is still on special right now. I have one in the cart at B&H... and I'm trying to hit the "purchase" button... it's really hard... I'm just not sure about this. $2,500 is a great price, too...

Its still in my cart. I almost hit the purchase button twice this morning. Somebody tell me that if I do this, the D850 is not going to be suddenly announced at the end of December...

Thats a gamble really. Wait until the last day of the promo. If you get buyers remorse you can return it but I would get if I had to get a camera right now. if you can wait 2 months or 1 year then I would that too. Expect cleaner High ISO and maybe more MP for replacement. Not sure what else besides built in wifi and gps they can add to make the new body more appealing. Just remember the new one will cost more.

Oh, heck, I did it. My D810 is on the way and should be here by Friday. My old D2Xs will be sad... but I'm still going to use her.

That is wishful thinking on the D2. You are going to be blown away at the improvement.

I just got it yesterday afternoon. The only thing that bugs me about it is its tiny and somewhat flimsy feel. That's probably because I'm used to the tank I've been using all these years (the D2Xs). I do need that optional battery grip.

Getting the battery grip will fix that. Nothing like the feel of a real camera in your hands that you know is not a toy.

I am still dreaming, but someday I think I will have one, if you decide you don't like it I will take contributions. Like the grip on the D500, first one I have had.
