I am willing to give that Tammy a shot. I have used the 1/500 rule too. I have not heard anyone bring it up in years. My usual rule is ~O) +me=VR!

@JSS28- I checked your flicker out and Wow!! Super crisp images. Were those post processed or in camera sharpend?

Dredden85 - I shoot only RAW and do sharpening and post processing in LR & CS6. I do not over process images but do clean them up a bit and sharpen them, noise reduction also. I usually follow the same process..Clean the image if required (spot removal etc), select the subject and do noise reduction on the surrounding area and sharpen only the subject..one pass usually.

@JSS28- Any issues with focusing as mentioned in B&H reviews and from some of the fellow [NR] folks?

Dredden85, I have not had any issues at all with this lens. To get to 500mm it's a great price and lens.

Asking if anyone has some experience with this lens. I plan to use it for wildlife and day time sports on a D7000.

I would rather look up a Sigma 400mm f/5.6 APO on eBay. So far all long Sigma zooms have been so-so @300mm or beyond EXCEPT the 120-300 f/2.8 OS which is optically excellent but has sluggish AF.
