Hey, I can keep the bird theme going here along with further seasonal scenes...have a great Christmas Day everyone. D200 & 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G VR1 @ 119mm 1/180s @ f/8.0 ISO 200.
Christmas present from my wife. Ruggard Alpine 600 Supertelephoto Backpack. I had to pack it just to see how it handles. No complaints. She did well...
No chance of any snow here for some time yet (if at all)......14 degrees C today! Thus more old shots - this is our village Church Street as depicted on the village sign on my last post. D700 24-70mm f/2.8G @ 32mm 1/200s @ f/5.0 ISO 400 SB800 fill flash & +2/3 EV.
Caveat - No intention to offend anyone who maybe against country pursuits, but this is a traditional scene across the UK on Boxing Day. Taken a couple of years ago and since the ban on hunting with dogs was introduced - these guys still meet locally but use a drag method whereby a scent trail for the hounds to follow is laid by a man on a quad bike sometime before the riders gather. D700 & 70-200mm f/2.8G VRII @ 170mm 1/800s @ f/4.0 ISO 640. (Note: If anyone really does object to me posting any more similar images then I'm only too happy not to.)

And very photogenic it is too @GPDen. I remember with great fondness the days spent running with hounds, but that was when I had knees, lungs and muscles!
As well as being a member of the Hunt the grumpy looking guy in the background is also one of us.......a fellow photog. I think he's grumpy because he's noticed that I shoot from the 'light side' whereas he shoots from the 'dark side'......(will reveal all in my next post!). Meet Liz, from a November 2015 shoot. She's since moved away. I was actually standing in 2 feet of water for this photo.

**I'm no longer putting all of my portrait photos on my Flickr page - might go Squarespace but not sure right now.
A 200ml lens makes and excellent landscape lens.
