Well that's what it says ....my reaction ....junk not enough. And even worse its got the rubbish pro controls ...just like a 2 door car ok but a pain in the butt. Still saved me some money ...think I will buy a range rover instead.
I would not give up on getting a high MP camera from Nikon. It may not be the D820. If they provide better high ISO performance, faster auto focus, more focus points, etc. it may be worth upgrading to the D820 for the current D800 users. They may release a high MP camera in a new body say a D900 (or a D5X) for the 100 year anniversary as everyone is expecting it to be the D820 to be the high MP camera. I don't think Nikon wants to show their cards at this time.
I would like to announce the Nikon DFX1! It has 100,000MP, 1000FPS, unlimited buffer, 10 different crop factors (from large format to CX). Noise? What noise, it's perfect even at ISO 1 trillion. You could take pictures on the dark side of the moon and think it was broad daylight, with no noise! It comes with one built in lens that will do everything from portraits, sports, wildlife and even macro! Auto focus? Meh, it just focuses on everything and lets you decide what depth of field you want later.
Best yet the entire package weighs 500g and fits in your pocket! And the price? $100,000 dollars!!! Get one today!

If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.
I'll be happy if they don't cancel my pre-order (when it happens) and delete the entire line by next December. But now I'm hearing rumors about a D5x with hyper resolution at only $10K.
They are testing broadcast 16k video and cameras in Japan now..... 40k isn't quite there yet..... We can't even get 8k in the US...... the only company that is laying gig fiber is Google, and it looks like they are stopping that cause of cost..... The US keeps taking steps backwards. In 2021 56k modems will be in every home again.
Can we change the title of the thread ... or modify it ...

TOKYO—Sony Corp. today announced the development of a 1,000 fps stacked CMOS designed for smartphones. The new image sensor consists of a DRAM layer added to the conventional two-layer stacked CMOS image sensor, with a layer of back-illuminated structure pixels and a chip affixed with mounted circuits for signal processing. (See graphic below.)
Sony said this newly developed sensor with DRAM delivers fast data readout speeds, making it possible to capture still images of fast-moving subjects with minimal focal plane distortion as well as super slow-motion movies at up to 1,000 frames per second in 1,920x1,080-pixel HD.
lol I can just imagine a slowmo, makeup smudging, passionate tongues, hair tousling wedding kiss.!

What's great about this thread is that if Nikon doesn't announce anything until May, then this thread can become the April Fool's thread with the D820 camera. Peter should do a post on April 1st announcing the camera and a new lens.

It is still just a rumor, but high likelihood of accuracy.
@Pistnbroke don't know where you got the pro controls info from
