Great action shot Msmoto and love your caption..so apt. Just to prove more bicycles in France seem to be used to grow flowers in/on rather than be ridden here's another example...! (I have more!).. D700 & 50mm f/1.8G 1/320s @ f/3.2 ISO 200.
Looks like my last post was a bit out of sink by the time it got added - Msmoto my comment was aimed at your Mustang Tractor pic although I suppose could apply to the 3 wheeler as well, either way nice action shots. I always check before posting that the page is refreshed but it still catches me out now and then.
Oh, oh, oh...... Photobug....what a lovely shot of my favorite plane ever (and I'm a Brit!!!) - made a balsa wood model of one when I was about 11 years old, so much care during the weeks taken to build it and then on the maiden flight she when up and then spiraled down to earth into a hundred pieces!!! My first and only venture into aviation!!! Ah well at least I can look back now without the tears of an 11 year old!
GPDen; regarding your comments about Photobug's P51. My father served in the US Army in the Pacific in WWII, mostly on New Guinea, but some on Guadalcanal. He visited us in California once and we took him to a local aviation museum. While we were there a fellow who owned an airworthy 51 was flying patterns and doing low level high speed passes down the runway.
We watch the show for a while and when I looked at Dad, he had tears in his eyes. He said something like, "you know son, that is the most beautiful sound in the world. During the war, if you were in the shit and you heard that, you knew things would be OK. We called it the 'voice of God.' And when we heard it we knew he was bringing Hell with him."
Years later, I still LOVE watching and listening to those things.
Hi Capt_S - Lovely piece of history and nostalgia from you re your dad's experience in the war. I guess it's difficult for those who have not gone through such experiences to really appreciate just how vivid and real it is when those that did, recall such times. Hope I never have to go through such things in my lifetime.
