Anyone have experience or an opinion on the value of this accessory? Looks like a substitute for a flash bracket with the arm they show in the illustration. Just curious.

This is an L bracket. It enables the use of an arca-swiss head between your tripod legs and camera which means you can change orientation of your camera on the tripod without losing your composition. You have get the same thing in black on eBay from China for about £10. L brackets dedicated to your camera model are better, but more expensive (£80-200).
