Is it possible to be able to control and see the live preview of my D7000 on my iMac's display? How, are there specific apps?

I think you mean shooting tethered? Use Lightroom and get the appropriate lead. Simple as that.

Using Lightroom will not give a live view though.

Nikon Capture Control Pro 2 is an option as well.

If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.
