I am new to Nikon and looking to protector my LCD (particularly the rear LCD) with a protective screen. Does anyone have a recommendation? Vello seems popular on B&H but wondering if there is a better alternative?
I think its a choice between thin toughened glass and a clear plastic film. The plastic will protect against scratches but the glass will take some impact damage when it cracks. not sure how this will affect the touch screen...
To be very honest, what's wrong with the ones that come with the camera? I know it's supposed to be used in storage only, but they work pretty well for me.
I dropped my Sony Z5 Premium from 6ft onto concrete and thought it was destroyed when I saw it but it was only the tough glass screen that was cracked. On the other hand, I dropped a Motorola G6 play (without screen protector) onto freshly dug soft soil and the glass broke badly due to it landing on a tiny stone. £110 to change the screen on a £150 phone.

I would always go toughened glass.
