mhedges, nice pictures of your daughter (yesterday's post). Really like the one just above this post. Two players coming together at the ball at the same time is already great to watch. And yes, a very nice image.

Speaking of great pictures...the post over the last week have been really good. I love seeing all the variety of pictures with less emphasis on BIF...that has been old for a long time.

Our grandson at bat...on the far right is the baseball. Note, not umpire behind the plate, due to COVID-19 they stand behind the pitcher. Not ideal for calling strikes and balls.

Here's my daughter (in the black) in yesterday's game. This was the first time she's played 9 on 9 and it's definitely more of a challenge to photograph because the field is so crowded.

Nice photo PhotoBug. My sons' baseball images are all on film and my grandkids are still a bit too young. Calling from the mound can be a challenge. I did that for my kids' scrimmage games for a long time. As they got older and their command of breaking pitches improved it got exponentially harder.

mhedges - Now it makes sense. I assume that you were just lucky with those photos since there were not too many kids in the shot....yes, it is so challenging when your playing 9 on 9. Looks like your daughter really has good skills, in so many of the shots she has good body lean going into the ball and knows how to use that arm and elbow to hold off the other player.

Capt_Spalding - Thanks. As soon as the grand kids get older you got to influence the parents to get the kids into baseball. After all, you need to photograph them. Good point about calling those breaking pitches.

Another one of our grandson, 10 years old, at bat. In the background at 3rd base is our son who is the head coach of the team. Note the fuzzy chain link fence sun reflection diagonally through the picture. Normally you can't see it by keeping the aperture open around F4 but this was a tough situation when the angle of the sun started causing the reflection back into the lens.

Thanks again photobug. Not sure I can return the compliment just because I know next to nothing about what constitutes proper baseball form but your grandsons stance etc. look good to me.

Check out that shoulder contact....love that about soccer. She also has the inside position...good soccer move.

Another hit...and in this game, they moved the Umpire back behind the catcher.
