I know all dog owners say this but it does seem that he adopts this position on the back of the sofa 15 - 20 mins before she arrives home (how do they know?).

We have several bird baths in our back yard. This particular one, however, has become quite popular with the raptor crowd. I'm not sure what species s/he is, any insight would be great.

Edit: appears to be a "sharp shinned hawk."

@Capt_Spaulding ...looks like a sharp-shinned hawk....google also ID as one...

@CEBlueclouds - thanks. After some time at the Cornell ornithology site I came to the same conclusion. I was torn for a while, the Sharp-Shinned and Coopers hawks are almost identical. Thanks again.
