@mhedges - Yes, that is a bit of difference on size. LOL I watched the Monaco GP yesterday and at the interview of the winner (Max Verstappen) the interviewer brought Serena Williams (the honorary checkered flag waver) on for some comments. She dwarfed Verstappen. Compared to Serena, Max looked like the young lady in the black uniform.
In my case it's made worse because about half the girls on the team are playing up a year. It's a U12 team (meaning 2009 birthdays) but they didn't have enough girls so there are a lot of girls with 2010 birthdays. In some cases that means playing against girls ~2 years older. The girl in the pic is one of the youngest on the team - she doesn't turn 11 for a couple more months I believe.
12 year old girls play contact soccer and sometimes resulting in funny pictures. Looks like they are dancing..
So... If I may make one suggestion I would say to increase your shutter speed. I shoot in aperture priority (typically set to wide open or sometimes F4 on my 2.8 lens) and set a custom minimum shutter speed in the Auto ISO control screen. Usually I go with 1/1000 for day games. That freezes action fairly well and most of the time doesn't raise the ISO up too high. For bright sunlight or when I'm using my 2.8 lens I go with 1/2000. The increase doesn't make much difference with the kids movement but it does freeze the ball a little better.
There's a lot of contact for sure. It can be a little concerning sometime given the size differences you sometimes see:
Thanks for the suggestion. That definitely would help. The sky kept changing and the shutter speed dropped a lot, that is what I get for not paying attention. I do have the 1/1000 minimum shutter speed set as the custom minimum shutter speed.
Last weekend shot a baseball game and had to push the ISO up for higher shutter speed and it really helped. If I shoot another soccer or baseball game will shift to AUTO ISO and try it out. Thanks.

mhedges & Photobug - Interesting exchange re settings for the footie pics. For golf and cricket I normally shoot on manual f4.0 & 2000s + with Auto ISO but set the ceiling for that at around 4000 so the quality doesn't drop too much when it gets overcast. Usually doesn't reach that limit though so under exposure not a risk. Occasionally have to watch for over exposure if I quickly switch to non action shots and drop the shutter a lot lower and ISO 64 isn't good enough. Has to be really bright conditions for that to happen. Above shot at f/6.3 (200-500 f/5.6 lens) 1/4000s ISO 1000.

Sure. I usually go with 6400 as max ISO, at least for day games. It's pretty rare to have to go up that high but does happen sometimes for early or late games in overcast conditions.
Here's one at ISO 3600. I love the symmetry in it.
