Hi all,
I’ve recently joined the forum and thought I’d introduce myself.
I’m based in the UK (East Yorkshire) and mainly shoot wildlife, particularly birds, along with some macro work. Most of my time is spent out in the field rather than in a studio, so I’m always interested in real-world performance rather than purely lab results.
I’m currently using a Nikon Z8 with lenses such as the 180–600mm and 400mm f/4.5, and I’ve been working quite a lot on birds in flight and autofocus behaviour in changing conditions.
I’m here to learn, share experiences, and hopefully contribute something useful where I can. Always keen to hear how others are getting on with the Z system, especially for wildlife.
Thanks,
Alan

We look forward to seeing some of your work posted here.
I live in western Colorado now after living for 19 years in Alaska. A little over 10 years ago my sister and I hiked the Coast to Coast Walk from St. Bees to Robin Hood's Bay. A little north of you I guess but I must say, what beautiful country, and it was a treat photographing the coastal birds!
I also have a Z8, but I'm hanging on to my old D800e and a newish D7500. I'm using lenses I bought in the 1970s all the way up thru several S lenses.
Cheers,
Gene
