Just as a fun activity, I'll post some photos taken with a camera that recently started shipping from Nikon. Let's see who can guess which one. Bonus points for which lens was used. Have fun!

Hmmm. Hints imply interchangeable lens. Started shipping recently.

First shot doesn't seem like an FX perspective/DoF. Interesting noise in the gray area of the last shot, and at this distance, we're losing some strand resolution. First two seem wide/standard, last one too small a patch to guess.

    Nikon 1 V3 with the 10mm f/2.8.

I don't think it is the DF or D4s as the digital zoom into 100% is too great isn't it? Must be at least a 24 MP sensor...

    1) What time frame are we talking about 6 months to two years? 2) Do you own both the lens and body? 3) If we get it right, what are you willing to part with besides kind words? Round of drink for all those that participate...yes?

I'll be happy to buy a round for anyone who participated here. Just look me up when you are in SF bay area!

@KnockKnock gets the prize for being closest to the pin! It is a Nikon 1 V3 with the 10-30mm (27-80 equiv). I did recently purchase the V3 kit and the 6.7-13mm as well.

I added technical info to each one of the shots above.

    Thanks for playing everyone :)

@CE, I just added those yesterday. @pistn, I'd hardly call the $1200 Nikon 1 kit micro bucks... But certainly cheaper than a D4. Also the additional lenses I want 70-300, and 32mm f/1.8 aren't cheap either. I'm doing this until the D400/D9300 releases.

No insult intended to anyone just interesting that the "top camera" can be confused with the bottom one..
but of course we did not have the benefit of Lightroom to view and in any event its horses for courses and if you are happy with the results thats great.

Try the same thing in less than ideal conditions and you'll see a big difference. Most cameras in ideal lighting conditions will look similar.
If I take a good photo it's not my camera's fault.

3200 iso in the first pic is not "ideal lighting" so its got fairly good lowlight performance. heaps better than my old d70 or even my old S5Pro(d200 clone) ! i would even say it could be better than the D300 maybe.
