Capture NX 2 - How to cut image from one photo and paste to another

I have several group photos. I am trying to use the lasso tool to identify a face that I want to remove from one photo and replace it with one from another photo. Can this be done with this software. The user manual identifies a cut/paste option. When I use the lasso function to trace the outline of the portion of the image that I want to remove, the edit drop down does not allow a "cut" option. Control-C also does not work.
Can anyone help with this? I am on a tight deadline to create the final portrait of this group.
